Join us for a comprehensive 3-hour training course designed to help you get started with active-active distributed PostgreSQL deployments. The session will include design principles as well as exercises using pre-built data from pgBench (with Spock) and Northwind database.
Throughout this session, you will learn how to achieve bi-directional replication at both the table and schema levels across a 3-node configuration, handling table replication with effective filtering techniques and conflict resolution mechanisms through practical exercises. Explore techniques ensuring consistency between database nodes, critical for scenarios like planned maintenance, network failures, and large-scale deployments with partitions. Delve into advanced topics such as handling large object logical replication, implementing pause/resume functionality, resyncing tables, and enabling self-healing at the subscription level. Develop expertise in auto DDL usage for partition replication, optimizing partitioned tables, and leveraging Auto DDL to streamline deployment efforts. Finally, we’ll cover basic load testing, diagnostics, and monitoring to maintain robust operational health in distributed PostgreSQL environments.
